Bequests
Consider leaving a bequest to the Western Museum of Mining & Industry by naming our organization as a beneficiary – or even a contingency (secondary) beneficiary – in your will or trust.
What is a bequest?
A bequest is simply a gift you make to WMMI through your will which indicates your desire to leave something of value to the Museum and its future work. A charitable bequest can be a specific dollar amount or a percentage of the value of your total estate, a gift of stock, life insurance, or in some cases, even real estate.
Donors wishing to designate a gift to WMMI in their will or trust should use the following language:
“I wish to give (choose appropriate statement): a specific dollar amount; percentage of the estate; or (specific number) shares of (specified) security to the Western Museum of Mining & Industry, 225 North Gate Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80921, Attention Legacy Coordinator. The contact number is 719.488.0880.”
