September 12 is the opening of our newest rotating exhibit, feature works by artists Pam Chadick Aloisa, Kat Duff, Tom McGuire, and Darya Warner. They will be presenting their mining-inspired artwork and answering questions during our lecture series event.

This month's lecture will examine the history and development of coal mining operations in present day Colorado Springs. It will look at the unique conditions of local coal production, how the coal was used, and explore the demographics of industry workers in this industry.

See our Fluorescent Minerals Room. A 360 degree visual treat of glowing minerals. This amazing room is open when the museum is open, and is included in your admission.

Host an event in our unique machinery exhibit area. Create an authentic atmosphere in our newly renovated Hay Barn, or out on our vast campus.

WMMI offers a wide range of educational programs for all ages. Along with our monthly lecture series, WMMI offers engaging STEaM CAMP over Spring Break and the Summer. Plus, schools from around the area come to WMMI for incredible field trips to teach the importance of mining, manufacturing and ranching history in the American West.
