September 12 is the opening of our newest rotating exhibit, feature works by artists Pam Chadick Aloisa, Kat Duff, Tom McGuire, and Darya Warner. They will be presenting their mining-inspired artwork and answering questions during our lecture series event.

Our annual pumpkin patch fundraiser takes place on October 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th this year. Make fall memories while you help preserve Colorado History! Tickets will be available for purchase online starting September 1st.

Lecture Series: The Nordberg Steam Stamp Oct. 10
The Nordberg Stamp located on the grounds of WMMI is one of two remaining examples of this type of vintage rock crushing machine that was used predominately in the copper mining belt in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The subjects Bob Phillips covers in this lecture will include a range of related topics for the purpose of placing such machines in the context of time and purpose. The lecture will provide insight as to the physical placement of the stamps and the nature of their function within the ore-milling process. $5, Free for members.

WMMI offers a wide range of educational programs for all ages. Along with our monthly lecture series, WMMI offers engaging STEaM CAMP over Spring Break and the Summer. Plus, schools from around the area come to WMMI for incredible field trips to teach the importance of mining, manufacturing and ranching history in the American West.
