Canadian journalist and author Andrew Nikiforuk will be presenting a fascinating perspective on one of the world’s largest energy projects, the tar sands located in Alberta, Canada, for the museum’s Heritage Lecture Series.  Nikiforuk is the author of multiple publications including his lastest book, The Tar Sands:  Dirty Oil and the Future of the Continent. The book is a national best seller and it received the 2009 Rachel Carson Environment Book Award along with being listed as a finalist for the Grantham Prize for Excellence in Reporting on the Environment.
